Physical Management Training

The Menta Method provides educators with an effective continuum of responses to disruptive student behavior. Adults are trained in strategies to prevent a crisis situation, to successfully intervene in a crisis situation, to safely use physical management techniques to resolve a crisis situation, to properly document incidents, and to gather and analyze data to measure progress toward student and programmatic goals.

The Menta Method places a great deal of emphasis on the use of the least restrictive intervention procedure, yet provides the educator with more restrictive tools should the situation warrant such escalation. The goal of training is to provide not only the tools, but also the confidence that comes from being able to use the tools proficiently and effectively. This level of confidence increases the likelihood that crisis situations can be handled calmly and safely.

The Menta Method training program prepares educators for the effective management of crisis situations, emphasizing four important skill areas:

  • Crisis Prevention
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Physical Management
  • Documentation, Data Collection, and Data Analysis
